Harmony Kingdom

Harmony Kingdom specializes on hand-crafted animal figurines with a touch of humor, romance and different kinds of mood.  Inspired by the beautiful place and wildlife park in Cotswold, England, craftsmen and artists who created these works of art incorporates different themes and elegant designs to each of their creations adding more uniqueness to an item and a one of a kind piece of art.

Each Box Figurine contains up to three secrets, depending on what the artist intended to express.  Some of which exemplifies relevancy of nature including the salvation of giant pandas from near extinction and the metaphor of two polar bears sweltering under the heat of the sun wondering where all the ice is, signifying the alarming reality of global warming.  These are just some of the inanimate storytelling and relevant portrayals these artists want to give out through their sculptures.

The sculptors of many Harmony Kingdom creations are renowned Master Carver Peter Calvesbert, Monique Baldwin and David Lawrence who have gotten popular attention through their creations which bring symbolism and messages of humor and even dark humor, mostly focused on nature-awareness.

Mr. Calvesbert’s career of being a Master Carver hasn’t always been his only profession.  He also studied Journalism where he met his soon to be wife, Andrea, and got married some time in 1995.  Peter and his wife, Andrea, love wildlife so much that they spend their honeymoon together on an African safari.

Being an advocate of nature and animals, most, if not all, of Peter’s sculptures are based on different kinds of animals, whether they are based on real animals or mythological creatures.

One example of his creations bringing messages of irony is an item called “Cat Walk” on Harmony Kingdom’s Black Box series.  This figurine shows three wild cats wearing and fashioning human skin.  Although some people might find the thought gruesome, it sends a strong message as to how people hunt these magnificent animals to earn profit for their skins and use it as a fashionable clothing garment by people who buy them and proudly wear them.

Monique Baldwin is another talented artist and sculptor within Harmony Kingdom.  Responsible for sculpting most of Harmony Kingdom’s “Garden-themed” sculptures and figurines, her works are valued by collectors around the world.  Monique is a well-trained designer, sculptor and painter because of her college education that started in her country of Dominica where she took up a two-year course in Art and Design at Stroud College and then attending Carmarthen College in Wales where she studied and pursue a Higher National Diploma (or HND which is similar to Masters or MBA) in ceramics, jewelry and surface design, and stained glass.  She then decided to put her Art school studies to good use by entering Martin Perry Studios, and onwards to creating to creating beautiful sculptures for Harmony Kingdom.
Last but not least, is David Lawrence.  David has always brought a creative, realistic, and humorous touch to his creations.  Living in a calm and quiet countryside in a small village at Wessex, England, David is deeply rooted and proud of his village’s legacy of having pristine forests and woodlands creatures.

Examples of his creations depict lovable animals that people often keep as pets doing silly, mischievous, cute and funny things like an item called “Poppin.”  This figurine shows a little kitty in Ms. Dolly Poppin’s purse sitting and guarding all its contents from the feisty mouse.  Made of crushed marble, hand-painted and personally signed by David Lawrence with his trademark symbol “acorn.”

Harmony Kingdom figurines not only offers wonderful animal statuettes as a decorative ornament, but it also give messages of love, care, humor, and awareness for everyone.
