Sofa Care Tips

Cleaning your sofa can be quite a drag especially if you have a leather sofa. Even microfiber require special cleaning materials but the good thing about it is that a lot of them are out in the market and you can simply purchase the ones that you need. Here are some tips for cleaning your sofa.

Leather – You can actually use soap to clean your Home Elegance leather sofa. Put soap on a soft cloth and use it to wipe the dirt off. Don’t soak the leather too much or it may cause harm to the leather. Do not rinse it after washing as well. Choose a high quality soap that would help moisturize the leather. You can also use a good quality leather conditioner. For specific brands, I suggest you look at different products and get feedback before deciding on what to use.
There are water-based cleaners that are available in the market specifically designed for cleaning leather. However, not all of those are compatible with your sofa. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to choose which one would go well with yours so what I would suggest is to try them first in an inconspicuous area of your sofa. If it doesn’t cause a stain or damage your leather in any way then go ahead and apply it on the whole thing.

Microfiber – I mentioned that microfiber can be easy to clean and maintain, however, microfiber requires some special cleaning equipment. Most cleaning products actually have some sort of fabric softener or bleaching material included in their formula. Those actually cause microfiber to break down or clog the material making it less effective over time. For general cleaning though, you can simply use a few drops of mild detergent mixed with water to wipe the dirt off your Home Elegance sofa. You can also use a vacuum cleaner if you want but wiping the dirt off would be a better option in my opinion. A good Home Elegance microfiber sofa would be the Petite Peat microfiber sofa from Home Elegance
